On April 19, 2025, Huawei Bangladesh Academy inaugurated the 2025 edition of Seeds for the Future, a flagship CSR initiative aimed at cultivating the next generation of ICT talent through hands‑on training in 5G, AI, cloud computing, and digital power. From over 3,000 university applicants, 60 were selected for an intensive week‑long bootcamp. This year’s program culminated in July 2025 with the announcement of eight national winners, among them two standout students from Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Islamic University of Technology (IUT).

During May and June 2025, the 60 bootcamp participants underwent technical workshops, leadership modules, and collaborative challenges. From these, 24 finalists were chosen to develop tech‑driven solutions addressing pressing social or global issues. A distinguished panel, including representatives from Huawei, UNESCO, leading academics, and program alumni, evaluated each project.
Two IUT students emerged among the top eight national winners: Wasif Uddin (ID: 210041144) and Nufsat Farooque (ID: 210041115), both members of the CSE’21 cohort. Notably, Nufsat’s team project, NeoVitol, was honored as Best Project of the competition for its innovative approach to solving critical challenges, a testament to her ingenious technical skill.
As national winners, Wasif and Nufsat will travel to China in August 2025 to participate in advanced ICT training and represent Bangladesh at the Tech4Good Regional Competition, collaborating with peers from around the world to refine and scale their solutions. Their achievement underscores IUT’s commitment to fostering industry‑ready graduates poised to make an impact on the global stage.
